RETURNS, EXCHANGES & REFUND POLICY

Last updated: 27 August 2026

At Pretty Savage, every piece is created to be noticed. Our garments are produced in limited quantities and many feature premium embroidery.

We want you to be happy with your purchase. This Returns, Exchanges & Refund Policy explains how returns, exchanges and refunds are handled and must be read together with our Cancellation Policy, Shipping & Delivery Policy and Terms of Service.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or limit any consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

If you would like to request a return or exchange, please contact Pretty Savage within 7 days of delivery.

To qualify for a return or exchange based on change of mind, incorrect size selection or similar non-defect reason, the item must be:

  • Unworn, unused and unwashed
  • In its original condition
  • Returned with all original Pretty Savage labels and tags attached
  • Free from stains, perfume, makeup, deodorant marks, pet hair or other signs of use
  • Securely packaged for return

Pretty Savage reserves the right to inspect returned products before approving an exchange or refund.

Where an item has been used, washed, altered, damaged after delivery or otherwise returned in a condition that materially affects its ability to be resold, a return may be refused to the extent permitted by law.

ONLINE PURCHASE COOLING-OFF RIGHTS

Where section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA) applies, a customer may cancel an eligible online purchase without reason and without penalty within 7 days after receiving the goods.

In these circumstances:

  • The customer is responsible only for the direct reasonable cost of returning the goods;
  • The goods must be returned to Pretty Savage; and
  • Any refund due under the statutory cooling-off right will be processed in accordance with the time periods prescribed by applicable law.

Certain transactions are excluded from the ECTA cooling-off right, including certain products made to a customer's individual specifications or clearly personalised for that customer.

A standard Pretty Savage product does not automatically become personalised merely because it was produced as part of a pre-order or embroidered-to-order production run.

Nothing in this policy removes any statutory cooling-off right that legally applies to a customer's transaction.

SIZE EXCHANGES

Pretty Savage garments are generally designed with an oversized fit.

Customers are encouraged to check the Size Guide and product measurements carefully before ordering.

Selecting an incorrect size does not constitute a product defect.

Size exchanges are subject to stock availability.

Because Pretty Savage operates limited-production and pre-order collections, we cannot guarantee that another size will be available once a production run has closed.

If the requested replacement size is unavailable, we will communicate the available options to the customer.

Where an exchange is requested because of an incorrect size selection or change of mind, the customer is responsible for the reasonable return courier cost unless applicable law provides otherwise.

PRE-ORDER & EMBROIDERED-TO-ORDER ITEMS

Certain Pretty Savage products are sold on a pre-order, limited-production or embroidered-to-order basis.

These items are not immediately available for dispatch.

The estimated production or fulfilment period will be communicated on the relevant product page before checkout.

By purchasing a pre-order item, the customer acknowledges the disclosed production period.

Unless an item has been specifically personalised or manufactured to the individual customer's own specifications, the fact that it was sold on pre-order does not by itself remove statutory consumer rights that may otherwise apply.

Orders containing ready-stock and pre-order items may be dispatched together once all products are ready unless otherwise stated or agreed.

PERSONALISED & CUSTOM PRODUCTS

Products that have been specifically personalised, altered or manufactured according to an individual customer's specifications may not qualify for change-of-mind cancellation or return where an applicable statutory exception permits this.

This may include, for example, a garment embroidered with an individual customer's name, wording, measurements or other customer-requested personalisation.

This limitation does not apply where the item is defective, damaged, unsafe or incorrectly supplied, or where applicable law provides otherwise.

EMBROIDERY VARIATIONS

Embroidery is applied to fabric using thread and machinery.

Minor variations in:

  • Thread appearance
  • Stitch texture
  • Positioning
  • Fabric movement
  • Colour appearance between screens, garments and thread batches

may occur.

Small variations that fall within reasonable manufacturing tolerances do not necessarily constitute a defect.

This does not affect a customer's rights where an item has a genuine manufacturing defect.

DAMAGED, DEFECTIVE OR INCORRECT ITEMS

Please inspect your order when it arrives.

If your parcel arrives visibly damaged, or if Pretty Savage has supplied the incorrect item, please notify us as soon as reasonably possible, preferably within 48 hours of delivery, so that we can investigate promptly.

Please provide:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Clear photographs showing the item and the problem
  • Photographs of the packaging where relevant

The 48-hour notification request is intended to assist with prompt investigation and does not limit any statutory rights relating to defective goods.

Where Pretty Savage supplied the incorrect product or an item is genuinely defective, Pretty Savage will bear reasonable return costs where required by law.

STATUTORY WARRANTY FOR DEFECTIVE GOODS

Where applicable, Pretty Savage products are subject to the statutory warranty of quality provided under South African consumer protection legislation.

Where a product fails to meet the applicable statutory quality standards within the statutory warranty period, the customer will be entitled to the remedies provided by law.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable legislation, this may include a repair, replacement or refund.

Nothing in this policy limits the rights provided under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other applicable legislation.

REFUNDS

Approved refunds will ordinarily be processed using the original payment method.

Where the original purchase was processed through a third-party payment provider, card processor or instalment-payment service, the refund may be required to be processed through that provider.

Pretty Savage will therefore not substitute a platform refund with an unrelated cash payment, EFT, card refund or store credit where the original payment provider requires the transaction to be refunded through its own platform.

Bank and payment-provider processing periods may apply after Pretty Savage has submitted the refund.

Where a customer exercises a statutory ECTA cooling-off right, the refund will be processed within the period prescribed by applicable legislation.

Original delivery charges will be dealt with in accordance with the statutory right applicable to the return and the circumstances of the order.

SALE & PROMOTIONAL ITEMS

Sale, discounted and promotional items remain subject to applicable South African consumer law.

Any additional promotional conditions will be communicated before purchase.

A promotion or discounted price does not remove a customer's statutory rights in relation to defective, incorrectly supplied or otherwise legally returnable goods.

RETURN SHIPPING

Customers must ensure returned products are securely packaged.

We strongly recommend using a courier service that provides tracking.

Where the customer is responsible for arranging the return, the customer remains responsible for the parcel until it has been received by Pretty Savage, subject to applicable law.

Please contact us before returning a product so that the correct return instructions can be provided.

CONSUMER RIGHTS

Nothing in this Returns, Exchanges & Refund Policy is intended to waive, exclude or restrict any right granted to a consumer under the:

Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008,
Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or
other applicable South African legislation.

Where a provision of this policy conflicts with a consumer right that cannot legally be excluded, the applicable legislation will prevail.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Last updated: 27 August 2026

Pretty Savage understands that circumstances can change after an order has been placed.

This Cancellation Policy explains when an order may be cancelled and must be read together with our Returns, Exchanges & Refund Policy, Shipping & Delivery Policy and Terms of Service.

CANCELLING BEFORE PRODUCTION OR DISPATCH

If you wish to cancel an order, please contact Pretty Savage as soon as possible.

Where the order has not yet entered production, embroidery, packing, fulfilment or dispatch, we will ordinarily be able to process the cancellation.

Once an order has entered production, embroidery or fulfilment, an operational cancellation request may not always be possible.

However, this does not exclude any statutory cancellation or cooling-off right that may legally apply to the transaction.

ONLINE COOLING-OFF RIGHTS

Where section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 applies, a customer may cancel an eligible electronic transaction without reason and without penalty within 7 days after receiving the goods.

The customer may be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods as permitted by law.

Where payment has already been made and the statutory cooling-off right applies, any refund due will be processed within the period prescribed by applicable legislation.

Certain transactions are excluded from this statutory cooling-off provision, including certain goods made to a customer's individual specifications or clearly personalised.

PRE-ORDER PRODUCTS

Pretty Savage may accept orders for products before production has been completed.

A standard Pretty Savage pre-order or embroidered-to-order product is not considered individually personalised merely because it is manufactured after the customer's order is placed.

The estimated production period for a pre-order product will be displayed on the relevant product page or communicated before purchase.

Where the customer has agreed to a disclosed pre-order production period, that agreed period forms part of the transaction.

If Pretty Savage is unable to fulfil the order within the agreed period, the customer will receive the options and remedies required under applicable law.

PERSONALISED PRODUCTS

Where a customer has specifically requested individual personalisation, custom wording, measurements or other customer-specific manufacturing, different cancellation rights may apply.

Where legislation permits, personalised or customer-specific goods may be excluded from certain change-of-mind cooling-off rights.

This does not affect a customer's rights where the item is defective, damaged, unsafe or incorrectly supplied.

ORDERS ALREADY DISPATCHED

Once an order has been dispatched, Pretty Savage cannot stop or retrieve the parcel in every instance.

The customer may still request a return after delivery in accordance with our Returns, Exchanges & Refund Policy and any statutory rights that apply.

HOW TO REQUEST A CANCELLATION

Contact:

Email: hello@prettysavage.co.za
Telephone / WhatsApp: 072 725 0908

Please provide:

  • Your full name
  • Order number
  • Email address used for the order
  • The product concerned

Pretty Savage will confirm whether the order has been cancelled and advise you of any next steps.

REFUNDS FOLLOWING CANCELLATION

Approved refunds will ordinarily be processed through the original payment method.

Where payment was made through a third-party payment provider or instalment service, the refund may need to be processed through that provider.

Processing times imposed by banks and payment providers may apply.

Nothing in this policy is intended to reduce any refund right or timeframe prescribed by applicable South African legislation.
